A prime
example of IAC's capabilities in this field is the proposal forwarded
to the Australian Federal Government which provides a total economic
and environmental solution to the problems associated with Sydney's
Kingsford Smith Airport (KSA). In essence, the proposal is to construct
two parallel runways in the south of Botany Bay, together with their
supporting infrastructure, to be operated in co-ordination with
the existing runways at KSA, all as part of the one Sydney Airport.
This development would be inclusive of the restoration and enhancement
of both land and water areas in the south of Botany Bay so that
it becomes one large land and aquatic park, with the airport runways
and their infrastructure integrated with it.
This
proposal would provide tangible benefits to Sydney and Australia
in terms of a significant noise reduction, the retention of the
airports proximity to the CBD, provide the continued utilization
of existing infrastructure and enable a dramatic increase in capacity
to ensure international, domestic and regional access well into
the future.
